DePauw Hosting Free Virtual Softball Clinic K - 8th Grades

DePauw Softball will be hosting a FREE virtual softball clinic on Sunday November 15th from 2pm - 3pm.

Sports Night through DePauw which generally spans grades K thru 5th grade students hosted at the university is now virtual this year because of COVID-19.

Due to these circumstances, the Bonner Program members that run the in-person sports night at Lilly (once a month) have opened up a partnership with some of the teams at DePauw. The "team" in partnership for November is Softball!

"I'm glad to say we are expanding this virtual clinic to K through 8th graders, as that is a more inclusive youth softball audience," says DePauw Head Softball Coach Erica Hanrahan.

The virtual breakout rooms will be split up as follows

  • K thru 3rd graders will be in one room for 45 minutes with a few players who are running an introduction to softball (with some fun games/competitions)

  • 4th thru 8th graders will be in another room: 15 minutes of offense, 15 minutes of defense, and 15 minutes of the mental game (after 10 minutes of warm up). It should be a lot of fun and teach some great softball skill work.

Anyone interested, must fill out the following form by Friday, November 13th. Just use this link to register:

Sunday morning, November 15th, every registered member will receive a zoom link to use to join the clinic at 2pm EST. Participating players who register must have a computer, bat, glove, and a little bit of space in the living-room to mimic the movements/skills that are presented!

DePauw Softball and the DePauw Bonner program are excited for this partnership and look forward to this opportunity to work within the community while having fun instructing the game of softball.

Let's play ball!
